[Machine Translation] Five Piano Works" was produced by Gareth Jones and recorded on two grand pianos owned by Irmin Schmidt in the south of France. One piano was a Prepared Pleyel, a John Cage's original, and the other was a 100-year-old Stanway piano, which was not Prepared. Some of the pieces were recorded as one-time performances on one of the prepared pianos, while others were performed on two pianos. The ambient sounds were recorded on the spot from the surroundings of Irmin Schmidt's studio; no other instruments or electronic equipment was used.

『5つのピアノ作品集』はガレス・ジョーンズのプロデュースにより、南フランスにあるイルミン・シュミット所有のグランドピアノ2台を使って録音された。一つはジョン・ケージ直伝のプリペアドのプレイエルのピアノを使い、もう一つのピアノは製造から100年を数えるスタンウェイのピアノであったが、それはプリペアドを施されていないものであった。何曲かはプリペアドのピアノ一本で一度きり演奏したものを録音したもので、その他は２台のピアノを使ったものであった。アンビエントなサウンドは、イルミン・シュミットのスタジオの周囲の音をその場で録音したもので、この他には一切楽器や電子的な機材は使用されていない。
