69年作品。シカゴに生まれサンフランシスコで活躍した白人ブルース・シンガー/ギタリスト、ニック・グレイヴナイツ初のソロ・アルバム。自作曲がポール・バターフィールド・ブルース・バンド (以下PBBB)やジャニス・ジョプリンに取上げられ、数多くのバンドやセッションに参加する中でニックはマイクと意気投合、マイクが結成したエレクトリック・フラッグではリード・シンガーを務めた。本作は『永遠のフィルモア・ウェスト』と対のようなアルバムで、ライヴ音源をメインに構成しており、『永遠のフィルモア・ウェスト』で使われなかった同時期のライヴ音源も収録されている。名義はニックながらもマイクの絶頂期の演奏が楽しめる内容となっている。3曲のスタジオ録音にはジャニスに提供した「素晴らしい世界に」などを収録。永らく入手困難となっていた隠れた名盤と言われた一枚である。08年再発時にボーナストラックを追加収録、PBBBに提供しヒットした、かの有名な「ボーン・イン・シカゴ」、ジャニスに提供した「ワーク・ミー・ロード」の作者ヴァージョンが聴けるのも嬉しい。08年デジタルリマスター盤。◆ 紙ジャケット仕様 / Blu-spec CD2 / 解説・歌詞対訳付き
