68年作品。マイク・ブルームフィールドは、ニック・グレイヴナイツ、バディ・マイルス、バリー・ゴールドバーグ、ハーヴェイ・ブルックスらと8人組バンド、エレクトリック・フラッグを結成し、67年のモンタレー・ポップ・フェステイヴァルでデビューを飾る。バンドは別名"アメリカン・ミュージック・バンド"とも名乗っており、ブルースのみならず、ソウル、カントリー、ロック、さらには街の喧騒や静寂に至るまでの幅広い音楽や音を標榜し志向した。ホーン・セクションを取り入れるなど、ブルースの枠を越えたバラエティに富む曲にチャレンジし、どの楽曲も非常に質の高い傑作デビュー・アルバムとなった。マイクのギター・プレイも、彼らしい伸びやかさを持った音色で充実感溢れる演奏力を発揮し、バンドとのコンビネーションも申し分ないが、残念ながらこのデビュー・アルバムに参加した後に脱退する。88年のCD化に際し4曲のボーナストラックが追加収録され、この傑作を一層価値ある物にしている。 ◆ 紙ジャケット仕様 / Blu-spec CD2 / 解説・歌詞対訳付き
