昨年、初期5枚のアルバムをOriginal Mono&Stereo音源 + Bonus Track (Mono音源)という構成で紙ジャケ仕様でリリース、好評を博した。ソニーに残した後期アルバム6枚についても再発の要望が多く寄せられた。6作目以降はMono Albumを制作していないが、今回は97/00年のリマスター&リミックスではなく、オリジナル盤発売当時のマスターを使用し、さらにMono音源を含む、Bonus Trackを可能な限り収録という構成を予定。既にアルバムを持っているファンにもアピールできる充実の内容。 ■ 10th となる『バードマニア』(1971年)は発売当時、メンバーに無断でオーケストラや女性コーラスを加えるなど、ザ・バーズらしくないとされ、賛否両論を巻き起こした問題作として知られる。その後、オルタネイト・ヴァージョンが発掘されるにつれ、プロデューサー、テリー・メルチャーの真意が伝わることによって、むしろ早すぎたアルバムと評する声も多くなった。ザ・バーズ流ゴスペル・ロックの名演「グローリー・グローリー」、気鋭のシンガー・ソングライター、ジャクソン・ブラウンの「ジャマイカ・セイ・ユー・ウィル」収録。全米アルバム・チャート第46位。 ★完全生産限定盤 / Blu-spec CD2 / 解説歌詞対訳付 / 紙ジャケット / オリジナル発売日: 1971年
