neolog UROBOROS 5

When Kaoru said this would be the best Dir en grey album ever, he wasn't kidding. You can clearly notice how their songs have become more mature, and Kyo doesn't scream as much as on the previous album. My favorite songs on UROBOROS are "VINUSHKA" (9 minutes of awesomeness), "Doukoku to sarinu" and "Toguro", and of course the previously released "DOZING GREEN" and "GLASS SKIN". It was worth buying the limited edition, beacause the unplugged versions of "Ware, yami tote...", "INCONVENIENT IDEAL" and "RED SOIL" are beautiful.

This album is perfect, Dir en grey show us the hard work that they did in this album, with melodic songs like Vinushka or Inconvenient Ideal and strong songs like Stuck man or Bugaboo. In conclusion Uroboros is a excellent and perfect album.

The Past, Present and Future... 5

The wait was unbearable, but I waited till it was dark outside when I plugged this disc in. It didn't take any longer than the first second to have me in complete trance all the way through till the last second. The only thing I could say was that it was probably their best album yet.

After having listened to so many times that I know every single detail in the songs, I can say that it truly is. Why is really not that easy to explain under 2400 letters, but I'll try.

SA BIR is the greatest instrumental opening I've heard from any band - period! VINUSHKA is not only a great insight to what the whole album will feel like, it's their most epic song ever! The two delicate singles GLASS SKIN and DOZING GREEN could never have prepared one for the powerful darkness this album holds. INCONVENIENT IDEAL which closes the album is their most emotional song ever.

Really, there's no point in talking about every song because they are all perfect! I can't even pick favourites, I just thought I'd say how the album starts, how it is somewhere in the middle and how it closes. The amount of hard work put down in this album is astonishing as DIR EN GREY manage to push themselves in a direction that make them better and better with every album which is something I can't think of any other single band have ever accomplished.

The unplugged disc contain 3 tracks once again and they are just as great, if not better than those from the previous album! In particular RED SOIL which also feature completely re-recorded vocals.

UROBOROS is so great that I can't possibly imagine how their next album will ever manage to top it, but I've said the same thing in the past with their previous albums as well and they always prove that they know how. They managed to capture the past, present and future of themselves with their darkest album yet.

AMAZING!(+ worth all the money!) 5

Dir en grey are now at the height of their music career, and always amaze me with each new album that explores and captures new sounds and genres. Uroboros is no exception, if you haven't listened to it already, go and do that now! It mixes the new with the old, the heavy with the soft. A very balanced and beautifully created album, definitely worth buying and listening to :D!

My thoughts on Uroboros 5

This was one of their best albums ever released! It's one of their darker albums & I love it. This one is definitely up there with Vulgar, Gauze & Marrow of a Bone. XD

Magnificent 5

It took me a while to make a review... but here goes. UROBOROS is an excellent title for this album. It all stands firmly and unified, in place and ongoing, eternally. All 13 tracks blend into one perfectly even if they each sound different. This album contains the past, present and future of Dir en grey. Their works always continue to amaze me. I expect nothing less from my number one band. I can understand what Kaoru-san meant about seeing different places while listening to each of the songs. SA BIR, for example, makes me imagine a forest, early morning. Ware, Yami Tote makes me think of the sunset. UROBOROS, for me, represents a whole day from dawn to dusk. When you listen to the whole album for the first time, I suggest you sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes, and see what images will appear. You'll be surprised. :) Also, the songs become better and better after each listen. I am so happy I own this CD. I look forward to what better things Dir en grey hold in store for us toriko.

OMG! 5

This band f@#@n rocks! I saw then perform some of these songs live and Kyo is such an emotional performer! I really like this cd, it has a middle eastern/indian feel to it. As evident from the title of some of the songs. Also, they mix hard rock with some down right meloncholic tunes. But any DEG fan would know, that's them. My favorite tracks are 3,6,&11.
