Metroid Prime & Fusion - Original Soundtracks

Not all video game soundtracks are as good in-game as they are on an actual CD. This can be for various reasons, the tracks repeat too often, or they are just TOO atmospheric. With the Metroid Prime Soundtrack you get an excellent CD with some of the best video game music of all time(opiniated!), but it's not for everyone. Metroid Prime has music that, while in-game, works heavily with the environment you're in. The work together to create this overall environment that absorbs you into the game. But the actual CD might not be for everyone. Some of the tracks might be found boring or slow to some. But if you are a true fan of the compositions, and know what you're getting with this purchase, it is an excellent CD that I will be listening to for years to come. Most of the tracks are fairly short but instead of hurting the overall package this seems to make it better. Tracks don't get repetitive and the songs that need a bit of length on them have it. Boss Battle themes are intense, while some of the other themes are remixes of Super Metroid tunes. The Prime soundtrack alone is worth the cost, but a CD of the Metroid Fusion soundtrack is also included. Sadly, it's GBA quality.

I am very pleased with this double Metroid soundtrack collection! These soundtracks are very adventurous, eerie, relaxing, and wonderful! Disc 1: Metroid Prime Soundtrack The music is very atmospheric. Sometimes it sounds more like sound effects than music. It is very engaging, but I think the musical compositions are not as detailed and dynamic as the Metroid Fusion soundtrack. The sound quality is very good! Disc 2: Metroid Fusion Soundtrack Because this music (except track 1) was made for a GBA cartridge the sound quality is not as lush as the Metroid Prime soundtrack, however, the compositional strength of the music is very strong! This is a very nice soundtrack!
