[Machine Translation] Melodiya label presents a box of rare self-performances by Shostakovich, the greatest Russian composer of the 20th century. Shostakovich himself recorded concertos, chamber works, and vocal cycles with some of the finest musicians of the 20th century, including Daniil Shafran, Zara Dolhanova, Alexei Maslenikov, and the Beethoven String Quartet. Also noteworthy are the bonus recordings of the Violin Sonata recorded by David Oistrakh and Shostakovich at their home, and the performance of Symphony No. 10 (arranged for two pianos) with the famous composer Micioslaw Weinberg.
