Tini Zabutykh Predkiv (Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors / Movie) 2K Restored Ver. [Special Price]

[Machine Translation] A tragic love story told through dazzlingly beautiful colors. The masterpiece that brought the name of the extraordinary Sergei Parajanov to the world! A masterpiece that epitomizes the work of director Sergei Parajanov. Based on *The Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors* by Mykhailo Kotsyubynsky (Mykhailo Kotsyubynsky), a national writer of Ukraine who worked to revive Ukrainian culture after it was suppressed during the annexation by the Russian Empire. This film was produced at a studio in Kyiv (Kiev) to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Kotubynsky s birth. The entire film, including the credits, was made in Ukrainian, faithful to the original work. Set in Hutsulshchyna (the region inhabited by the Hutsul mountain people) in the Carpathian Mountains of western Ukraine, the film elegantly depicts a tragic love story born of family conflict through its unique color palette and overwhelmingly beautiful cinematography. The aesthetic, exotic imagery and folkloric energy that permeate the entire film elevate this work to a one-of-a-kind work of art. Re-released at a special price! Deep in the Carpathian Mountains of Ukraine. A small village where a mountain tribe lives a traditional life amidst the harsh natural environment. Ivan and Marichka, who come from the feuding Parichuk and Hutenyuk families, gradually grow close and fall in love. Though they vowed to spend their lives together, theirs was a love that could never be. Bonus features include *Parajanov: Requiem* (a 1994 documentary, approx. 59 minutes).
