Once again, David shakes us with his “updated” vocals. But, unfortunately, always in his musical career, the musicians around him almost not reach his level. Only the “Come taste” and “Slip of” are an exception to this strange regularity. Naturally, all of the above does not apply to Tommy Aldridge. But with all the nit-picking, the album turned out great. As I already said, from time to time, the changes in David's vocal techniques are surprising. In any case, the possession of such a voice and the constant improvement of its sound is a sign of a true artist. Undoubtedly, Coverdale is one of literally several of the best vocalists of rock ... Without recalling the age ...

i got this yesterday & spun this disc twice now, i must admit this is probably the best whitesnake cd since maybe 1987 with a different sound and a heavy metal element to it like the 1987 record was 32 years ago, i am not a fan of modern production but i guess there is nothing i can do about that, the songs here rock, they are heavy and davids voice sounds ok on this disc as opposed to the purple album a few years back wich was awful. this is the first official whitesnake record in 8 years since 2011 and this is by far much better then forevermore & the one released 11 years ago back in 2008 good to be bad, david seems to be going for a very good old school hard rock/ hm record sound here on purpose and i think it worked out well for him this time, this is a lovely japan edition with 16 tracks and a dvd ( that i cant bother to watch) and is probably as far as i can see ahead, the last best thing mr coverdale will ever do & i think is his best whitesnake record in 32 years but as i always make clear I AM A FAN OF THE 1977 TO 1982 whitsnake era as that was amazing & i felt slide it in way back in 1984 was the last great thing whitesnake ever did, in 1987 things would forever change sadly and i highly suggest any fan get the 6 cd slide it in deluxe box that came out a couple of months ago as it is beautiful! again this is a very good record i am so pleased to say BUT i was listening to soundboard shows of whitesnake from the reading festival from both 1979 & 1980 yesterday and this record cant hold a stick to that era of whitesnake but i am still glad i bought this as again for my ears this is a very good americanized hard rock/heavy metal whitesnake record and the best that has been done since 1987.
