ボヘミア出身の作曲家レオポルト・コジェルフ (1747-1818)のピアノ・ソナタ第9集。1790年から1793年頃の作品が収録されており、奏者ケンプ・イングリッシュは1795年に制作されたフォルテピアノ (複製)を用いて演奏している。時代は疾風怒濤の時代から初期ロマン派への過渡期。スコットランドの歌をモティーフとした旋律で始まる第33番はハイドン風、ギャラント様式で書かれた単純で美しい第37番などに対し、まるでベートーヴェンの「熱情ソナタ」を思わせる第36番は全く対照的な雰囲気を宿している。抒情的な緩徐楽章では、時にシューベルトのソナタを予告させるほど劇的な部分も備えている。2012年録音。
