Xiangは1984年、中国、四川省成都市生まれ。2017年より成都で実験音楽の活動を本格化させる。演奏にはフィールド・レコーディング、ヴァイオリン、ノイズ、身体を使い、音と空間の微細な変化に耳を澄まし、その場の環境に特化したサイトスペシフィックな演奏をおこなう。ソロでの即興演奏や作曲活動はもとより、ほかのミュージシャンやアーティストとの共演や共同プロジェクトも数多い。また、成都で2017年にVital Sounding Festivalをスタートさせ、2023年からは不定期ながら成都、北京、ベルリンでDaybreak Concert Seriesの開催を続けるなど、イヴェントの企画・開催にも力を入れている。本アルバムは、大友良英が中国ツアーで成都を訪れた2025年3月、四川大学でおこなったXiangとの約1時間に及ぶデュオ演奏を収録。
