An excellent piece/story revolving around the Shinsengumi. The movie has a very creepy yet tragic air to it, sprinkled with romance and violence. It stars a very young Matsuda Ryuhei, who does a wonderful job; I've been a fan of his ever since seeing this movie years ago (his other movies are worth it as well). The movie had me thinking the entire way through, with a great ending, in my opinion. Gohatto was a definite must to my collection. It's worth a watch for an open-minded audience.
