Sailing free [CD+DVD]

It's been a while since the last OLIVIA single, and I keep hoping for an album. However, in the meantime, we have Sailing free, a single with two b-sides. The titular song, "Sailing free", hits the ground running and doesn't stop to rest; it features very heavy guitar riffs without being trashy, but still retains her mostly unchanged sound that was introduced during her NANA recordings. The second track, "Love Love Love", is a ballad that showcases Miss Lufkin's amazing voice with emotion and fragility. Finally, "Undress" gives us a medium tempo, radio friendly melody that will have you humming along in no time. Another excellent release from OLIVIA, but while I enjoy these appetizers, I hunger for the main course. Here's to hoping for a new album soon - cheers!

My Pre-review comment says almost all but not quite. I wrote in a second time to rate it a 5 and also to say that the B-sides in here are fantastic, especially Love Love Love, a song that seems to be dedicated too her fans and is very soothing to listen to. Undress is a very personal song about sadness and insecurity with a deceptively peppy sound to it. If your a fan of Livey please pick this one up.

If you were wondering about this single, it's a nice pop/rock song with music that's half Stars Shinning Out half Smashing Pumpkins and lyrics that follow up to her single Rain. I highly recomend the with DVD version. For 1 because I don't know if the other version on the DVD-less single is the same as the one in the PV, and 2 because the Pv is gorgeous. Features Livey looking cute on a paper cut out ship fighting her way through paper storms and turning dangerous paper octopus tentacles into paper rainbows on her way. Very Smashing Pumpkins like. I know cause I've seen it online already. If your like me and your desperate for new material then definately pick this one up ^-^
