クラシックの世界は、近年、オーケストラの定期演奏会などでも、積極的に新しい作品を取り上げる動きが出てきている。それは日本のクラシック界が、送り手、受け手ともに成熟してきた証しであり、日本発で広く演奏されうる作品を望む機運も高まってきている。そのような状況の中で、それぞれ日本を代表するオーケストラにポストを持ち、クラシック音楽の魅力を、様々な形で発信しつづける、藤岡幸夫、山田和樹、鈴木優人、原田慶太楼という、クラシック界を牽引する4人の指揮者が協力して、オーケストラの新作を生み出す場を創る画期的プロジェクト「ニュークラシックプロジェクト」がスタート。第一弾として、4人が選んだ4作品がCD化。
