After overcoming the crisis of the band caused by the departure of founder Shota Ishigaki, the renewed Kumorigahara, with Shion on vocals and Kosei Yamagishi on drums, makes a new start and releases their long-awaited new album on June 24, 2026! Featuring expressive vocal parts that make full use of Shion's singing ability, exchanges between guitar and keyboards that at times evoke 1970s hard rock, a more solid band ensemble, and compositions that are complex yet highly structured, this album retains the lyrical and literary qualities that have been Kumorigahara's hallmark while evolving into something harder and more sensual, making it a fitting opening to the "second movement of progressive hard folk." The highlight of this album is the new song "Mugen Hoyo," first performed at the progressive event "EXTREME Fes" hosted by idol group XOXO EXTREME at CLUB CITTA in October 2025. This approximately 30-minute epic featuring mellotron creates a grand world where stillness and motion, reality and fantasy intersect, overwhelming the audience with its scale and immersion. While inheriting chaotic initial impulses, a literary and lyrical worldview, and immersive long-form composition as the core of Kumorigahara, it becomes a new signature piece symbolizing the renewed band that brings unprecedented expansion.
