室内楽は、各奏者たちの才能と、同じ方向の音楽性、創造性、そして時には妥協も必要とする少人数の研ぎ澄まされたアンサンブル。中でも木管五重奏曲は異なった音色と、多様な演奏技法、各々の楽器の特性の違いなど作曲家にとっても課題が多いジャンル。19世紀にはダンツィやレイハの作品などが知られるが、20世紀になってタファネルやニールセンなど何人かの作曲家が五重奏の作曲を試みるようになり、これに触発された作曲家たちが次々と争うように数多くの作品を生み出し始めた。このアルバムでは20世紀と21世紀の作品を収録。斬新で実験的な響きを存分にお楽しみいただけます。ルトスエア五重奏団による2016年録音。
