再評価が高まる新東宝作品から、傑作怪談映画3タイトル同時リリース!! 血潮にまみれた五つの怨霊! 大川端に渦巻く断末魔の呪い!! 三遊亭円朝の「江島屋騒動」を原作に、毛利正樹が映像化した怪談映画。――古着商の治右衛門は、浪人の安次郎とその許婚のお菊のことが気に入り、ふたりを夫婦養子にした。跡とりを目論んでいた番頭の金兵衛とその妾お仲はこのことを恨み、安次郎を追い出して店を手に入れようと企てる。ふたりは、安次郎の待ち伏せに邪魔となった娘や、計画に気づいた治右衛門の妻などを次々と殺害し、その殺人を隠蔽するためにさらに罪を重ね、罪の無い人々を殺害していくのだった。何故かこの破滅的な方法で店は金兵衛のものになるかに見えたが・・・。
