This album was well worth the 28 year wait from Van Halen's last epic album with David Lee Roth the classic 1984. Van Halen has resurrected and updated some classic VH hard rockin' demos from the Roth era like She's The Woman, Bullethead, Big Trouble (Big River), Put Out The Lights (Beats Workin), Blood & Fire (Ripley)and Down In Flames (Tattoo). The new songs are just as incredible.. loud, vibrant, diverse and classic VH wit. The highlights for me are As Is (this songs is my fav- it rips!), She's The Woman, The Trouble With Never (Funky rocker- Living Color style), Stay Frosty (Ice Cream Man 2012), Big River and Beats Workin. Eddie still shreds and has lots of chops to WOW everyone, Alex is as fierce as ever on the drums, Wolfgang lays down some tight bass lines (although I miss Mikey) and Diamond can still roar--- this is the voice of Van Halen! I can't stop listening to this.. exceeded my expectations... let's face it these guys are pushing 60 ..but they recaptured the magic and this deserves the classic VH logo on the album cover. The Japan SHM CD version is crystal clear and don't worry the deluxe version DVD is region free and plays in North America. Buy this--- Van Halen is back on top of their game with one of their heaviest albums (Tattoo is the only pop tune) and a natural follow up to 1984. "Somebody said Van What?! Lord Strike That Poor Boy Down!!!!"
