Wee! It arrived today after 4 weeks of waiting. Wow. I hadn't expected anything so excellent than this. I'll be sure to enjoy this DVD even without the subtitles. It's worth of owning for anyone who owns the manga. Great job!

When I first heard Death Note was going to be an Anime, I was worried that it may differ from the Manga in many ways, but when I brought the DVD my first impression was the DVD cover and artwork was beautiful. The cover has 2 layers, a clear layer with monotone artwork and a mini poster artwork for the Anime. Also the first press of the DVD was great. The Ryuk figure is nicely detailed. This was definitely worth getting and I will recommend the DVD to all the fans of the Manga.
I was lucky and managed to get the limited edition with the Ryuuk figure. The DVD itself comes with a mini poster behind the dvd cover, textless opening and endings, and a trailer for the Live Action movie DVD which will be released Feb 2007. The Ryuuk figure has alot of detail and made of lightweight plastic, easy to put together, and a very beautiful box and clear stand. It's definetly worth the preorders to get the figures. ^^ I would reccomend the anime to anyone who loved the manga. It follows it almost to a tee but keeps you interested even if you know the story, and its beautifully animated and has a good music score for anyone new to "Desu Noto".
