Play With The Numbers / Night Of Fire [CD+DVD]

First Koriki ..... thank goodness he can actually sing and the combo of the 4 cute girls with this guy makes for some silly video. I understand this is part of his winnings from a singing contest he entered. He's quite a goofball (literally). Lets be honest... this is just japanese europop thats fun and perky summertime music --- no lifechanging experience. Japanese Cheerleaders sing ABBA style :) However, once you understand that: these girls are fun to watch and listen to. Oddly... their tune "Night of Fire" is not really the best tune on this piece. Both "Play with the Numbers" and "Yeah, yeah" are nicer pieces --- mostly because you actually get to hear that the girls have some vocal range and talent. It really annoys me when the industry discovers a wonderful singer with lots of range and only gives them a "one octave" thumpthump song to sing. I hope this group gets more of a chance to branch out. They aren't ZONE but... The video disc is the usual couple of music videos and a backstage documentary. Watching this sort of stuff is like a flashback to the 1980s and MTV. It is kind of innocent silliness and an almost amateurish goofiness.
