Description
The live action film "Gaku (Peak: The Rescuers)" based on the manga depicting volunteer mountain rescuers in Japan's Northern Alps. Stars Shun Oguri and Masami Nagasawa. Plot: A volunteer mountain rescuer, Sanpo Shimazaki climbs mountains all over the world and hopes to share his knowledge of the mountains to others. When Sanpo is called into action he never blames survivor in need of help even though their predicament is usually caused by them. New volunteer mountain rescuer, Kumi Shiina comes to his team and undergoes a strict training regiment under the guidance of rescue leader Masato Noda and Sanpo. She grows up as a rescuer, but cannot help people due to difficult situations. Kumi becomes tired and loses her confidence. Then a mountain blizzard starts to blows. . .

命は、命でしか救えない。人を愛し、山を愛する男 島崎三歩が日本アルプスを舞台に繰り広げる感動の人間賛歌!! ――雄大な北アルプス山系。そこには、誰よりも山を愛する男・島崎三歩(小栗旬)がいた。世界中の巨峰を登り歩いてきた三歩は、山岳救助ボランティアとして登山者たちの命を守っている。彼は、山のように大きな包容力を持ち、仮に要救助者が死んでしまっていても「よく、頑張った」と労わりの言葉をかける男である。そんな三歩の暮らす山に、新人救助隊員の椎名久美(長澤まさみ)がやってくる。久美は過酷な訓練を乗り越え成長していくが、実際の救助では遭難者の命を救うことが出来ない日々が続く。そんな折、猛吹雪の冬山で多重遭難が発生。仲間と共に救助に向かう久美を待ち受けていたのは、想像を絶する雪山の脅威! その時、三歩は・・・!?
