KOYUDO CW-03 Powder BrushMakeup BrushMy perfect bronzer brush
Other than some shedding, this brush has quickly become my fave for bronzer. The size is just right, the density gives the perfect wash of color thats not too deep, the gentleness on skin is a major two thumbs up. Extremely happy with this purchase and intend to get more as gifts for friends!

RR-H1 Highlight Brush / Chikuhodo Regular Series RedMakeup BrushGreat shape
its softness and medium density makes it great for giving a soft wash of color (blush or more targeted bronzer). Size also great for applying powder in selected areas. Angle of bristles makes it easy to use. Very comportable to use on skin - no scratchiness. Quickly became one of my favorites.

RR-C2 Cheek Brush / Chikuhodo Regular Series RedMakeup BrushGet it - great value
What a useful and comfortable little brush! Its smaller than expected but applies blush in a most beautiful way. The pompom head is very easy to handle and diffuses color into a natural looking wash. I can see myself using this more than my Z4!

Z-1 Powder / Chikuhodo Z SeriesMakeup BrushA beauty but too large for my needs
Got this brush when I was fascinated by large powder brushes. In the end, as lovely as it is, I have not used it much due to my style of makeup. I much prefer medium sized brushes that allow for more targetted placement of product. The Z8 and Z4 get far more use when I need a soft wash or color while goat (saikoho) brushes get the most use of all on my oily combo skin as they give more coverage.

RR-C1 Cheek Brush / Chikuhodo Regular Series RedMakeup BrushGreat for bronzer
A great brush for bronzer or a targeted light dusting of setting powder especially if you have a larger face. The bristles are of medium density which allows for some control of color placement. The pointed shape allows for even more control. The bristles are not the softest (and softness is not always the most impt criteria) but they are smooth and have good resilience.

Z-4 Cheek, Highlight / Chikuhodo Z SeriesMakeup BrushAgree - a great multitasker
A smaller brush than you would expect but a great addition to any "working" collection. Gives good control and gentle washes of color exactly where you want it. Great size for targetted powdering of the face to minimize cakiness.

T-4 Cheek / Chikuhodo Takumi SeriesMakeup BrushTried to love it
To me, this is an odd brush for the following reasons: although it is saikoho, its not as soft and silky as my other saikoho brushes (some of them cheaper in fact), the hairs can also feel a bit prickly during application, the goat hairs pick up more color so its best for less pigmented blush - perhaps I just have not mastered the use of this shape of brush and seem to feel more at home with a paddle shape.

Koyudo Gray Squirrel Blush BrushMakeup BrushImpressive
After dabbling with other brands of fude, I must say that I have been consistently impressed with Koyudo with its great balance between quality and price. This brush is an example of a great "everyday" luxury. There are more expensive squirrel brushes but the effect they deliver is not better than what this beauty can do. The white BP018 and the one with the cedar handle are similar. I find the cedar too precious to use and the white a bit mundane so this red one truly hit the spot. Great for those with sensitive skin or if you love highly pigmented blushes but want a soft wash of color. As always, those with oily skin will need to be a bit more careful while using these brushes - sweeping the brush after use over clean tissue regularly will help to keep the brushes in top condition. These squirrel brushes are not at their best when washed frequently.

Z-8 Cheek / Chikuhodo Z SeriesMakeup BrushWonderful Multitasker
The size of this brush makes it a great multi-tasker. Finishing powder, bronzer, a broad sweep of blush, etc. The softness makes it incredibly comfortable to use with no prickliness ever. Nicely blended results always - for me, it pairs nicely with Z4 or any smaller blush brush to give a more beautiful color-contoured effect. Please note that squirrel is very fragile and the tips are prone to breakage especially if you use very creamy oily products or have oilier skin - this is an issue that I have encountered. Frequent washing is also not recommended.

Z-9 Powder / Chikuhodo Z SeriesMakeup BrushToo bulky for my style of use
This is an excellent brush as all the Z series are. But I dont find that I reach for it as much because it is a bulky brush and I have come to prefer medium to small brushes for better control and movement across the face. The pairing of Z8 and Z4 is IMO perfect for most powder needs.

BP015 Blush Brush / Koyudo BP High Class SeriesMakeup BrushA great workhorse
A wonderful balance of price, quality, and function. Its not the softest brush I own but its a brush that I reach for most often for powder work. Does not prick skin even when buffing. The size, shape and medium dense head make it very easy to use. The dark hair keeps the brush from looking too dirty. Worth it.

BP016 Blush Brush / Koyudo BP High Class SeriesMakeup BrushA Must Have
I cannot recommend this brush enough. The shape, fluffiness, and softness make it the one brush that can do it all practically save for applying liquid or cream foundation. It is miles softer than some squirrel brushes, definitely softer and silkier than many goat brushes - and at the price, it is great value. Because it is goat, it is also more durable and will withstand more wear and tear. Highly recommended for first-time premium brush buyer! Its a brush that I tend to gift to my friends. I use it for all over powder, bronzer, blush, buffing out color and texture, etc. Feels like a cloud on the skin but hair still has enough strength to buff out color.

fu-pa14 CB Gray Squirrel Powder BrushMakeup BrushWow
I love how dense, soft, and plush this brush is. Great for dusting on finish powder, I use it for a very diffused natural looking application of bronzer around the edge of the face, to dot a bit of high color blush to accent the cheeks, and then to buff all of it out to airbrush perfection. Because it is part squirrel, I would recommend that you use it on clean or powdered skin rather than directly on moisturiser, sunscreen, or creamy foundation to prevent hair breakage. For men or those with oilier skin, I would recommend the Fuwafuwa with it super soft goat hair rather than this little beauty.

Koyudo Fuwafuwa Powder Brush Black HandleMakeup BrushA real treat
One of the best tools for powder and mineral foundation. Makes fast work of application. Smooth well blended results. Brush is lovely to look at. Goat hair is very high quality. One of my all time favorites.
