And if you own Dazai, Chuuya, Akutagawa, and Atsushi, you can clearly see that each has a unique facial expression and sitting pose that perfectly captures their character! WOODCUT [Blu-spec CD2]Big Big TrainA perfect albumThe album overflows with emotion and feelings that do not remain only in the field of narrative, they also cross through the music and gain body in the instruments, besides breathing in the intervals. The melodies are captivating and stick in your head easily, but without resorting to obvious shortcuts or ready made formulas. There is a more organic magnetism that builds gradually and when you realize it you are already humming parts without even noticing.

Adam's Apple [UHQCD]Wayne ShorterAnother must-hear recordAn essential album for lovers of the genre but also for anyone wanting to start experiencing some well-done 'jasi' without exaggerations like in the Bop style. One of the best albums I've heard, one of the most emotionally charged albums I've ever listened to.

Symphonic Live [Blu-ray + 2SHM-CD]YesOne of their reinterpretive setsFor YES fans, this set is a nice add to the library as it updates the sound, and puts everything under the same roof. As a personal opinion, I feel that Symphonic Live serves two purposes: to provide a look at the YES classic songs reinterpreted with a orchestral accompaniment, and as a time-honored look at a later period of YES complete with a classic line-up (minus Rick Wakeman, who had an inescapable prior commitment that, sadly, didn’t allow for his involvement). However, and as the included BD reveals, the band and all participants enjoyed their time on this stage. The music is good, the songs are classic gems, and it’s YES. I’m pleased with this new updated reissue.

Apollo [CD+DVD]Crystal LakeAwesome Bsides and DVDI love both of the b-side songs on here, and love hearing my boys go dubstep even if it’s dated. But I mainly bought this for the DVD, and it doesn’t disappoint. If you’re a diehard, get this!

Double BrutalAustrian Death MachineSecond Best ADMI love this album because they fixed everything that needed fixing from their first effort. The Arnold voice sounds better, the songs are better, and I love the second CD with the covers. Quad Brutal is still my favorite, but I love listening to this one too!

2nd AlbumKosuke Mine QuintetAn impressive second album by MineThe 2nd Album showcases Mine's exceptional skill on both alto and soprano saxophones, matched by the aggressive rhythm section and heartfelt improvisations from each member. The interplay between the musicians—particularly the fiery exchanges and lyrical runs—cements this recording as a cornerstone of Japanese jazz.

Eagle FlightRevolution SaintsDecent but Not GreatI was expecting more from these guys, but it’s more of the same Frontiers color-by-numbers band that doesn’t do anything interesting. It’s not bad, but it’s probably not worth it because it’s so nondescript.

ReconnectedCare Of NightSweet & Soft Modern AORThese guys are the lighter, more rounded and polished side of modern AOR. Street Rummer encapsulates everything they’re about: soft vocals, soaring melodies and solid composition. Recommended!

RecklessChez KaneSolid female fronted 80sorChez still has an amazing voice, but the songs here are collectively better than her last effort (but the track Power Zone is still her greatest). This one is a little more sexualized than the last CD, which is kind of annoying because it ruins some of lyrics by forcing the image, but it’s tolerable. Overall, if you liked her first two albums, you might like this one better!

Sound That Can't Be MadeMARILLIONShockingly good and different in placesA superb piece of modern day Marillion and ranks as one of the strongest releases of the band's modern era. Different in places, reassuringly familiar in others. Emotional, honest and large in scope, yet still claustrophobic, secretive and intimate.

KIN [Import Disc]Pat Metheny Unity GroupThere is plenty to celebrate about KinPat Metheny Unity Group is the new PMG, and Kin is as strong a statement as could be expected from an artist who has, over the decades, consistently pushed himself into new territories with fresh colors, previously unheard compositional constructs, growing acumen as a guitarist—and new musical partners to help him realize wherever his muse is taking him.

Let It Roll [Cardboard Sleeve]TKOTKO RocksTKO's 1979 debut, Let It Roll, is generally reviewed as a melodic, keyboard-heavy, and polished pop-hard rock album, often compared to 70s acts like The Who, Boston, and Foreigner. While featuring strong vocal performances from Brad Sinsel, it is often seen as a lighter "bar-band" precursor to the heavier sound of their celebrated follow-up, In Your Face.
