[フォーエヴァー・サウンドトラック1000] 『エクソシスト2』『ポイント・ブランク』『未来惑星ザルドス』等のジョン・ブアマン監督が、現代人の内に眠る野生を大自然を背景に描き出した異色のサスペンス・アクション。音楽はエリック・ワイズバーグ&スティーヴ・マンデル (トラッド・アレンジ/演奏)。本作の音楽は、全編バンジョーをフィーチャーしたカントリー・ミュージック。近年、幻のカントリー・ロック・バンドとして再評価の気運高まる「エリック・ワイズバーグ&デリヴァランス」のエリック・ワイズバーグと同バンドに在籍したスティーヴ・マンデルが担当、トラッド・ナンバーをアレンジしプレイもしている。エリックは50年代後半からニューヨークのフォーク・シーンで活躍してきたバンジョーの名手。スティーヴもエリック同様、米フォーク界で知られたアコースティック楽器のマルチ・プレイヤー。映画の主題曲ともいえる「デュエリング・バンジョー」は、アーサー・スミスというナッシュビルのアーティストが55年に発表したナンバー「フューディング・バンジョー」をカバーしたもので、同曲は74年の全米チャートでNO.1を獲得する大ヒットとなった。解説付。
