Convinced by the reviews of other buyers, I decided to purchase this economical SHM-CD edition, I too can confirm that the sound is excellent, I have not made direct comparisons with the original Polydor Eu 823 777-2 from 1984 or subsequent reprints, but I repeat I am happy with this purchase!

Very good sound, loud, this album deserve 5 stars indeed.I am very happy to have it in my collection.
Along with Burn, this is easily the BEST Deep Purple album. Every track is a classic. The title track the BEST Purple song ever, Under The Gun see's Ritchie give a fantastic solo. Ritchie Blackmore (as ever!) steals the show - the BEST guitarist ever. Gillan also puts in a classic performance (but not as earth shattering performance as on Black Sabbath's Born Again - his best!). This SHM cd is louder than the USA remaster and alot crisper sounding. CLASSIC MUST HAVE cd.
