Megadeth has never been one dimentional band and this record is no different, it has lots of variety into it. 30 years since the band formed, Megadeth still consistently putting out a new material every 2-3 years and managed to stay relevant. The album debuted #6 on Billboard top 200 which is the third highest in the band's career. Kingmaker and Built for war are typical Megadeth headbanging tunes while Dance in the rain is another Megadeth trademark song which started slow, lumbering and heavy and then gradually becoming faster and faster. The title track Super collider and Forget to remember shows more melodic side of the bands which will reminds you of Cryptic writings era while Off the edge, DOn't turn your back are somewhat similar to The world needs a hero and The system has failed era, a heavy mid tempo track. Black crows is very experimental track which contain ganjo (a six-string banjo), it has middle eastern vibe like their older song The scorpion.Beginning of sorrow open with a powerful bassline and it has a very cool verse riff and middle section that will reminds you of Youthanasia. The bonus tracks on this Japanese release are both solid tracks and actually doesnt sounds like b-side/bonus track material in my opinion. Overall is a very solid record as long as you take it as a "new album" instead of "RIP part 2" or "Peace sells part 2". If you listen to new record expecting it to sounds like an old record, I suggest you to listen to the old record instead. Rating : 8.5/10
