This is by far their best album yet, sure this might not be the "traditional" Nightwish sound but without Tarja it would never be the same anyways. I really like Anette, and she makes a good duo with Marco!

it took me a while, but i kinda got used to anettes voice eventually. i also tried to imagine how the album would sound with tarja singing, and i don't think tarja would match the music. i do think they could have done better in their choice for a new singer though. but i am just the person listening to it, and don't have a clue what pile of tapes and cd's they had to go through to finally reach their decision. probably pretty immense... i also have something to say about the sound of the cd... this is what makes it a "pretty good album", instead of a "f-ing amazing must have cd". i really don't understand why all the people on the forums rave about the "fabulous sound quality". nothing fabulous about it. in fact, it sucks. there are NO dynamics whatsoever, the guitar is WAAAY too loud, the drums are pushed so far to the background most of the time you can't even hear them, anything they recorded in the abbey road studios was a complete waste of time because of the horrible mix. every album i pray they come to their senses and hire someone who knows what he is doing, but alas... it's always the same.
Nightwish made a very good CD despite Tarja's dismissal of the band. Anette has an incredible voice, and the band came with heavier songs than the previous CD's...recommended for those who appreciate a high quality heavy metal!!!
