ハンク・ジョーンズやジミー・コブなどのレジェンドに愛され、ロイ・ハーグローヴ・クインテットで日本人初、最後のレギュラー・メンバーだったニューヨーク在住の実力派ピアニスト海野雅威、渾身のニュー・アルバム。2020年9月にコロナウイルス蔓延によるアジア人ヘイトクライムの犠牲となり、NYの地下鉄構内で集団暴行に遇い、ピアニストにとって致命的と言える右肩骨折などの重傷に見舞われた。その事実はCBSや日本のニュース番組でも取り上げられ、直後に友人ミュージシャンが立ち上げたクラウドファンディングではすぐに多額の寄付金が集まった。その後、不屈の精神と懸命なリハビリで奇跡の復活。その道のりは2021年11月放送のNHKスペシャル「この素晴らしき世界～分断と闘ったジャズの聖地～」でも紹介され、多くの反響が寄せられた。本作は支えてくれたミュージシャン仲間とレコーディングした待望の復帰作。療養中に書き下ろされたオリジナル曲で構成され、生命力と歓びに満ちた作品に仕上がっている。
