Heart Station is a great triumph from Utada. Each track is strong necause all the songs fit so well together. There is a feel good vibe throughout all the tracks. My favorite tracks are Celebration, Prisoner Of Love, and Niji iro basu. Niji iro basu has a driving beat that shows off Utada's playful singing style. There is even Kiss & Cry which fleshes out a song on Exodus. I've been an Utada fan since 1999 when I was living in Japan. I heard First Love piped in at Mr. Donuts and blasted through loudspeakers at baseball games. So I was there at the beginning. I would also recommend First Love and Distance. Both are great strong albums. Exodus is my least favorite. For a while Distance was my favorite Utada release until Heart Station.

I absolutely love this cd. I have been listening to it since my dad picked it up from the post office this evening. The poster is adorable. I love all the songs but my absolute favorites have to be Fight the Blues, Heart Station, and Prisoner of Love.
I'm still waiting for my "shipment confirmation" since I pre-order it on the 18th (T_T) I cant wait but somehow the world is conspiring for me to not get it (ToT)~~~~
In this review I'll focus mainly on the new singles and the album as a whole: This album follows in Hikki's newer style, such as what you find in ULTRA BLUE - a bit electronic and dancy, not so much R&B. Fight the Blues reminds me a bit of Keep Tryin' with a bit more of an... industrial?... sound, with a bit of horn in the background. Gentle Beast Interlude feels a lot like Crossover Interlude from Exodus, with bits of Heart Station and other songs sampled. This fades perfectly into Celebrate, which is rather like a low-key background One Night Magic. Prisoner Of Love has a wonderful beat, somehow expressing the "prisoner" feel well. Take 5, apparently a song about death, has a very "riding on the wind" feel, somewhat like Kairo. It does end abruptly, which I don't mind, but it's very odd going immediately into the children's song "Boku wa Kuma". Nijiiro BASU is quite energetic, and makes me think of a bus horn honking happily, or something, and seems like a calmer version of traveling. The only songs I am still warming up to are Celebrate and Nijiiro BASU. However I'm having trouble getting a sense of the album as a whole, rather than a randomly ordered playlist of songs.
I can't wait to listen to the new album. Received the shipping confirmation today and am so excited!! :P I wonder what the poster will be of...
I cannot "wait & see" the new album and poster ever since i listened to her music, i was "Eternally" bonded to her music. We are on the "Final Distance" of the album arriving!!! This will not "Be My Last" purchase of Hikki items, for it was "Automatic" for me to purchase this album when I saw it on pre-order. At first i could not find a good payment method, but I told myself "Keep Trying" and now her new CD is on it's way!!! I like the different "COLORS" she shows with her music, you can feel the "Passion" in it. Her music will forever "Stay Gold" in my heart, and I'm happy that this "Beautiful World" gave me a new "Flavor Of Life". I "Wonder 'Bout" the "Traveling" time, i hope it gets to me "A.S.A.P." I guess only "Time will tell," but at least i know that i will "Never Let Go" of these albums. I thought i would not get "Another Chance" at getting the first press, so i ordered quick. I told myself... "Give Me A Reason" not to.
I have to say, I'm not ashamed that I downloaded this album recently to test the songs before my copy arrives this week, but in all honesty, this album kicks butt!! Up until now, Beautiful World was my favourite on the album {I got the single before} but Take 5 is a GORGEOUS melody, interwoving Utada's ethereal choral abilities unlike we've ever heard before!! Fight the Blues and Prisoner of Love are fantastic too! Overall, this album is absolutely fantastic, and I can't wait for my OFFICIAL copy to arrive!! PS> Niji-iro no Basu is adorable!!
I am so excited to see Utada's new album is gonna release soon. I've placed the order to get the first press edition and hope it approved today so I can catch the initial releasing date. I look forward to the CD and the poster! I love all her songs and am obsessed with her short-hair style. I had a teacher who looks like her.
I've been so excited and am so happy to get this album ASAP. it has gotten so many great reviews and the singles for this album were A-MAZING!! I LOVED ALL OF THEM!! I HOPE EVERYONE GOES OUT AND BUYS THE ALBUM!! SUPPORT YOUR ARTIST!! UTADA HIKARU!!
My goodness, I can't believe this is finally coming out. I bought her first single cd for this album, "Flavor of Life", in the Kinnokuniya Bookstore in the big NYC. It was amazing. Of course, knowing that the ballad and original version will be on the album and not the antidote mix (which is my favorite of the three), is a little sad, but whatev. All of her songs that have been released for this album are amazing. There's no doubt that the rest will be win. I think my favorite right now is "Stay Gold" or "Heart Station". Utada Hikaru is great, because you can really tell that she's progressed over her albums. She continues to get stronger in her lyrics and vocals, and she's always a good performer. I'm sure this album is gonna be another win for her.
I cannot wait for the release of this album...! The singles included in it were all awesome, some of them were even her best, in my opinion...! "Fight the Blues" is, based on the preview I heard, a very interesting song. I think, without at doubt, that the fans will not be deceived by this upcoming album. Oh, and Utada said on her blog that "Prisoner of Love" is going to be a ballad. (I like her ballads a lot!)
Fancy Hikki!! This HeartStation is definitely amazing, as indicated from the avaliable singles. Prebooked already~~ can't wait to get it!
Oh man. I just found out about heart station just yesterday and I had to to pre order her album. The single Heart Station alone was enough to buy her album. Hope she makes it big on the Oricon charts!
i cant wait to get her new album and stay gold/heart station single was amazing. i'm definitely gonna have one of her songs as my ring tone.
This album is definitely gonna hit the top 10 Oricon chart and figuring out from the advanced singles, i think it's gonna be one of the albums of the year. And this album is far better than Ayumi Hamasaki's Guilty.. I'm sorry, i didn't mean to burst hamasaki's fans' bubbles, but ultimately this album will outsold "Guilty" yeaah GO Utadaaa
Wow, this album is really promising to be great. So far all of her singles have been amazing. The maturity in her lyrics really shines this time around. Can't wait to hear the entire album!!!
01. Fight The Blues 02. HEART STATION 03. Beautiful World 04. Flavor Of Life -Ballad Version- 05. Stay Gold 06. Kiss & Cry 07. Gentle Beast Interlude 08. Celebrate 09. Prisoner Of Love 10. Take 5 11. Boku wa Kuma 12. Niji-iro BASU 13. Flavor Of Life (Bonus Track)
The songs "Heart Station" and "Stay Gold" alone are enough reason to buy this CD! I very much look forward to hearing Hikki's new music!
yes I know that many people love utada hikaru. I personally can't wait for this album because i have loved all the singles so far that are released that are going to be on this new album so all you fans should love this cd as well
Looking above to the button that says, "First Press Available" if you click on that, then you will see a little window that pops up and gives you a description of what all that jazz means. If you see, "First Press available" then it says, "If your order is processed while this button is still indicated, you will receive the first press edition with the bonus extras." So, yes, if you order while you still see, "First Press Available" then you will receive the poster, the same as me.
