[HQCDカタログ・シリーズ] 58年にいち早くマイルスがその才能を発掘したサックス奏者、キャノンボール・アダレイを起用し、共演した作品。アルバムの冒頭を飾るのはシャンソンの名曲であり、多くのジャズ・ミュージシャンが取り上げている有名な「枯葉」。ミュートをつけて演奏するマイルスのトランペットは、繊細に物語を紡いでいくようで、否応なく彼の世界に引きずり込まれていく。一方で、アダレイのアルト・サックスは力強く、奔放で、対照的。ハンク・ジョーンズのピアノもハートフルで、次々に心を奪った後、いつまでも余韻を残す。スイングジャーナル誌選定ゴールドディスク。録音: 1958-3
