インドの山奥で――仙人ダイバ・ダッタに秘術を授けられ、愛と正義のために闘うヒーロー! レインボーマンが初の廉価版DVDで登場!! 第2巻。――インドの山奥で修業を重ね、七つの化身に変身できる超能力を得た青年が、日本人皆殺しを目論む秘密結社「死ね死ね団」の陰謀に挑んでゆく、特撮TVドラマ。1972年10月から全52話が放映され、平均視聴率が15%を越える人気番組であった。原作は『月光仮面』の川内康範。自らの身を犠牲にすることを厭わず正義ために戦うヒーローの姿を描いている。「死ね死ね団」の作戦は、日本人を薬物で狂わせたり、偽札を大量にばら撒き日本経済を破壊するなどリアルなものだが、一方でアマゾンの魔女が率いる殺人プロフェッショナル軍団が登場したり、自由な発想でストーリーを盛り上げる。主人公・ヤマトタケシを演じるのは水谷邦久。精力的な演技を見せる水谷は、変身後のレインボーマンも自ら演じている。「死ね死ね団」のリーダー・ミスターK役に平田昭彦、タケシの父親役に小泉博と東宝特撮を代表する俳優が出演しているのも見どころ。M作戦編1: 第14話～第20話収録。解説書封入。
