This Blu-ray while expensive is well worth it because it provides good English subtitles to go along with the incredible film on the disk. My only complaint is that the commentary seemed to play before the regular audio, which I'm not sure it that's normal but it shouldn't be the default.

At Fujiya, a long-established ryokan (Japanese-style inn) in Kibune, Kyoto in winter, Mikoto, a waitress working at Fujiya, is standing by the Kibune River behind the annex when the hostess calls her back to work. Two minutes later, however, she is back at the Kibune River as before. Not only Mikoto but also other workers and the guests all began to feel something was wrong. The hot sake that never gets hot. The rice porridge that never runs out. The bathtub that they could not get out of forever. They were in a "loop". And for exactly two minutes! After two minutes, time rewinds and people all go back to where they were. Only each person's "memory" is carried over and remains continuous. People who want to get out of the loop and people who want to stay in the loop, their emotions start to get disturbed, and the snow starts to fall and stop as it does so. Let me start by saying I'm a big Torigoe Yuki fan. He is adorkable and just all around amazing actor, so I got this movie because of him. I wasn't sure just what this movie was about (some sites said horror and others said comedy) so I went in to watch it nervously, and found myself completely in love with the whole cast! The storyline is simple, it's a small town, time seems to be looping every 2 minutes and the cast have to figure out what is the cause and return time to normal. There were some parts I thought were signs it was going to be a very dark movie, but it turned out for the best. No spoilers, but the ending was just so quirky and adorable - it made me love the movie even more. Another huge thing for me was SUBTITLES! I buy a lot of imported movies/series from Japan without any subs. I'm learning Japanese, but it is still such a relief to be able to understand the plot of the movie/series better than me piecing things together. This is quite the charming movie and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to watch something interesting, different and just a sweet take on "time looping" or anything certain around time
