初来日45周年特別企画、日本が世界に誇る音楽遺産。同時発売となる『コンプリート武道館』のスピンオフ企画。1978年発売アルバム『武道館』に収録されずに未発表となっていたパフォーマンスをまとめたLP2枚組。LP1には1978年2月28日、LP2には3月1日と開催日別に収録し、未発表の10曲とオリジナルに収録された日とは別の日に演奏された未発表ヴァージョンの6曲を収録。いずれも世界初リリースとなる16曲。オリジナル『武道館』とは異なるコンセプトで選ばれた歌の数々からは、改めてこのライヴでのボブ・ディランの充実振りが伝わる。この日本洋楽史上稀にみる復刻事業は、全世界でのリリースも決定した。
