ダブル・ライフ [Blu-spec CD2] / ザイン・グリフ
80年代にデヴィッド・ボウイ・フォロワーとして人気を誇ったニューロマンティック界の貴公子ザイン・グリフの『ヘルデン・プロジェクト/スパイズ』 (2022年)に続く新作は、盟友としてお互いのソロ・アルバムに参加しあう仲だった高橋幸宏の死を悼んで制作された。ザインは高橋の死に際し、「ユキヒロが亡くなったと聞いて、とても悲しい。彼と一緒にレコーディングしたり、彼のために作曲したり、彼のためにベースを弾いて一緒に歌ったりできたのは本当に素晴らしいことだった」という談話を発表したが、その悲しみがこのアルバムを産んだ。死を契機としたアルバムとはいえ、その基調は悲劇的なものではなく、むしろ楽天的でポジティヴな作品となっている。ザインの自作を中心にしつつ、高橋幸宏に提供した「This Strange Obsession」、YMOの「以心電信」、デヴィッド・ボウイの「ブルー・ジーン」、ゲイリー・ニューマンの「カーズ」といった80年代エレポップのカヴァーが色を添えている。また、80年代UKエレポップ界の人気グループ、ヒューマン・リーグ/ヘヴン17のマーティン・ウェアがリミキサーとして参加しているのも話題だ。日本先行発売。
