Remastered by Bernie Grundman. Very nice job, it is remastered low and quiet, very warm and clear. I really like the job Bernie Grundman did on this album. I would love to see him do all of Hendrix's studio albums.

クライ・オブ・ラヴ / ジミ・ヘンドリックス
本作は、ジミ・ヘンドリックスが謎の死を遂げてから5ヶ月後の1971年3月にリリースされ「最後のスタジオ録音アルバム」と言われていた作品。「クライ・オブ・ラヴ」は、1970年のアメリカ・ツアーのときのバンドにジミがつけた名前だが、本作はもともとジミ・ヘンドリックスが死ぬ前に構想していた2枚組アルバム「ファースト・レイズ・オブ・ザ・ニュー・ライジング・サン」のために録音された素材から作られたもの。当時のファンの状況からすれば、このアルバムももちろん大きな話題となって迎えられたのは当然である。その後、このアルバム収録ナンバーは97年に「ファースト・レイズ～」のタイトルで発売されたアルバムに全曲収録されたが、当時のオリジナル・ジャケットを再現しつつ、音質的にもバーニー・グランドマンにより新たなリマスタリングが施されたことで、本作も新たな装いで生まれ変わった。★リマスタリング / オリジナル発売日: 1971年3月
