[Machine Translation] Hourglass" is a mixed Japanese-Filipino alternative rock band formed in Cebu Island, a famous tourist spot in the Philippines. In Filipino society, where the amount of money you make is the most important thing, working-class people like them are often looked down upon for committing themselves to a music career that is difficult to make it big. They overcame this adversity with this album. This is a very unusual background in that Niizato, a Japanese musician, "discovered" local musicians in the rough and arranged/produced this album with a UK-oriented musical taste that is not found in the Philippine scene.

フィリピンの観光名所セブ島で結成した、日本人とフィリピン人混合のオルタナロックバンド"Hourglass"による、日本とフィリピンのインディーロックシーンの架け橋となるアルバム。どれほど金を稼いでいるかが物を言うフィリピン社会では、彼らのようなワーキングクラスの人間にとって、大成するには難しい音楽業にコミットすることは白い目で見られる、という逆境がある。それを乗り越えての今作である。日本人の新里が、ローカルミュージシャンの原石を"発見"し、フィリピンのシーンにはないUK寄りの音楽テイストでアレンジ/プロデュースをした、という極めて珍しい背景をもつ。
