    Dreams 5

Although not as famous as other masterpieces by Kurosawa, Dreams contains some beautifully shot sequences and a lot of the love for mankind and nature which is typical of the director's works. The scene of the wedding of the foxes is superb. Highly recommended.

One of my favorite films! Pre-Release Comment

I saw this film when it was released in theaters back in 1990 as my friend was taking an international film class in college. This film defines how cinematography should be done! Though the dialogue is more of a storybook lesson for kids you will find yourself engrossed in the movie, part of this Dreamland. The movie is made up of different stories put together and perhaps this is one of my favorite types of cinema like Paris Je T'aime and Mystery Train. The cameo by Martin Scorsese is not to be missed either. At the time I saw it I was unaware that he had inspired George Lucas but I'm not surprised. I can watch this over and over again, with full color, music, simple dialogue and of course a cinematic masterpiece!
