阪本順治監督が伊藤健太郎を主演に迎え、ある港町を舞台にしたオリジナル脚本で人間の業を切なく儚く紡いだ『冬薔薇』と、豊川悦司を主演に迎え、"究極な孤独"を描いた禁断の問題作『弟とアンドロイドと僕』のサントラ盤をカップリングでリリース。音楽を担当するのは、阪本監督作品を数多く手掛ける安川午朗。『冬薔薇』では、切ないピアノの響や不協和音が、何をやってもうまく行かない主人公の心情を表現。そして『弟とアンドロイドと僕』では、ノイジーなデジタルサウンドと不安定な旋律が、もうひとりの"僕"としてアンドロイドの開発に没頭する、ロボット工学者の孤独を見事に表現。世界観が異なる音楽が堪能できる一枚。
