Description
DVD release of the film "Suffering of Ninko (Ninko no Junan)" directed by Norihito Niwatsukino. Plot: A diligent Buddhist monk, Ninko has one serious problem, that he is popular with the ladies more than usually. Since sexual indulgence is considered a sin, he blames himself for not being virtuous enough and embarks on a journey to discover himself. Along the way, he gets along with a samurai named Kanzo, and the two arrive at a deserted village. There they meets people victimized by a specter who seduces the spirits of men. Ninko and Kanzo are asked to kill the specter, however...

世界が喝采した煩悩襲い来る、唯一無二の異色時代劇エンターテインメントが日本に逆輸入上陸! 監督・庭月野は、僧侶と人斬りと妖怪が邂逅する魅力的な妖怪譚を、実写とアニメーションを交えて描き、完成度の高い本格時代劇に仕立て上げた。主演は映画監督としても活躍する辻岡正人。「人生でこんなにモテたことがない」という彼が色欲に翻弄される仁光を文字通り体当たりで演じた姿は、コミカルながらも奇妙な哀愁を漂わせ、観る者を魅了する。さらに、劇中曲で尺八演奏するのは、世界的に活躍する神永大輔。現世と魔境の狭間で揺れる仁光の心情を見事に表現。 ――僧侶にとって、女犯は大罪――武州のはずれ、延明寺。謹厳実直な仁光という名の僧侶がいた。仁光は他の誰よりも修行に励む僧侶の鑑だったが、そんな彼にも悩みがあった。それは、女に異常にモテること――町の若い娘から、熟れた女房、枯れ果てた老女にいたるまで、仁光をもみくちゃにして離さないのだった。ある日の逢魔ヶ刻、仁光は不思議な少女に出逢い、その魔性を開花させてしまう。狂乱の騒動の後、仁光は周囲を惑わす自らの不徳を恥じ、己を見つめ直すための旅に出る。道中知り合った浪人・勘蔵と共に山を越え、辿り着いた寒村では、村人たちが、男の精気を吸い取って殺すという妖怪・山女に頭を悩ませていた。仁光と勘蔵は山女の退治を頼まれるが・・・。
