アフロ・アーバニティは、TVCMや舞台音楽、ジングルなどを多数を手がける、売れっ子サクンド・クリエイター、阿部道子と、様々なジャンルのヴォーカリストとしてライブやレコーディング、CM等で活動する傍ら、ルンバなどのコアなアフロ・キューバンが歌えるヴォーカリストとしても活動する、Nana Cantarina (ナナ・カンタリーナ)を中心に、2017年に結成された。元々ストリートや日常のお祭りで演奏される音楽であるルンバやサンテリーアの魅了を伝えるべく、360°全方向視聴にこだわったライヴを続け、キューバ～ラテン・ファンのみならず、ジャズ、フュージョン、アフリカ音楽ファンなどからも多大な支持を得てきた。そんな実験的な活動を経て、満を持して制作されたのが、本ファースト・アルバム。
