It was the first album released in six years since their last album, "Test for Echo," and was a revival of Rush's music career after the tragic death of drummer Neil Peart (who lost his beloved daughter in a car accident) in the late 1990s. The album includes songs influenced by Neil's journey to heal his emotional wounds. It is also the first time since "Steel Embrace" (1975) that the band recorded the album with only drums, guitar, and bass without using any keyboards or synthesizers. Ten years after its release, the album, which reached No. 6 on the U.S. charts, has been revived with a new remix! The album is now back with a new remix 10 years after its release! When fans learned that two songs from "Vapor Trails" ("One Little Victory" and "Earthshine") were remixed for the 2009 release of "Retrospective III," they were excited to see if a remixed version of the full album would someday be released.
