本アルバムは、昨年リリースされた、『ハーヴェスト』、『ハーヴェスト・ムーン』に続く3部作の完結編となる、グラミー・ノミネートの名作アルバム『プレーリー・ウィンド』の制作・リリースと同時期に並行して制作されたドキュメンタリー的映画「HEART OF GOLD」のサントラ。映画は、昨年8月にナッシュヴィルで行なわれた、『プレーリー・ウィンド』リリース記念ライヴの映像を中心に、アーティスト/人間ニール・ヤング、彼の魂、彼の仲間たちとの友情等をフィーチャーした感動作。監督とプロデュースは、ニールと長年の盟友的関係を持つ名匠ジョナサン・デミ (「フィラデルフィア」「羊たちの沈黙」、「ストップ・メイキング・センス」等)。サントラには、映画で使用された名曲の数々のライブ等を多数収録予定。映画は、公開館数は少ないながら一館あたりの観客動員数では、高い数字を記録している。
