昨年より話題となっていたシズラの注目新作の登場が正式決定! “約束の地”＝アフリカを旅した経験がもたらしたコンシャスなルーツ・ロック・アルバム! アフリカン・レゲエ・アーティスト、ジャー・シード客演、強力制作陣参加による要注目作品! 昨年はバイク事故で世界中のファンを震撼させたレゲエ・シーンのカリスマ、シズラ (・カロンジ)。そのシズラの最新作が登場。昨年よりその登場が噂されていた注目作が遂に正式発売決定です! 2010年にシズラはアフリカを訪問。ガーナ/ジンバブエ/ガンビア/南アフリカの他、ラスタにとって“約束の地”とされるアフリカ諸国で長期ツアーを実施。そのツアー先のジンバブエでは「シズラが自宅・スタジオを建設している」と噂が流れ、同時に「アフリカは自分の家だからココに居ることは当然のコト」と発言したことから、「シズラがアフリカ移住」と大々的に伝えられましたが、実際にはその後にジャマイカに帰国。ただ、帰国時には「シズラがアフリカに住んでいないわけではない、心はアフリカにある」とも発言して、アフリカへの強い想いを表していました。本作はその2010年のアフリカ長期滞在中に現地でインスパイアされ書き上げた曲、現地で制作に取り掛かった曲をジャマイカで最終的に作品へと仕上げたもの。アフリカでの経験を13曲の楽曲にまとめた「旅の記憶」。制作はシズラ自身とシズラ初期作品を多く手掛けていた〈ケイヴマン〉のエヴァートン・ムーアがプロデュースを担当。「銃や女をテーマとするのではなく、コンシャスなルーツ・ロック作品」とシズラが伝えるように、テーマはアフリカの現状を伝えるメッセージ・ソング、世界の不平等/不正義/混乱を糾弾するもの、ラスタ/ジャー (神)を讃えるものが中心で、生音を多用したルーツ・ロック・サウンドが全開。アフリカで知り合ったジャー・シードとの共演曲「How Come」の他、ボブ・マーリーの「Rat Race」のリディムを使用した「System Crash」、リタ・マーリー作曲でウェイラーズが制作したリディムを使用した「Put Away The Weapons」、またバニー・ウェイラーもミュージシャンとして参加しているなど注目点も多数。既発の「Hungry Children」の他、強い音に強いメッセージ、そして何よりも強いシズラの歌声と意志が合体した強力作品です。ブックレットにはUKの著名レゲエ・ジャーナリスト、ジョン・マスーリによるライナー・ノーツ (英字)掲載予定。
