[Machine Translation] New Wave-style Electro Funk is brought to you by MIND ENTERPRISES' "Idealism"! BECAUSE MUSIC, which has been revolutionizing the electro scene, presents the debut album of a newcomer in 2016! The inspiration for this debut album was "Afro Funk". The inspiration came from a hard disk given to Andrea by Salvatore Principato of Liquid Liquid, who produced Andrea's previous post-punk band, Did. He was hooked on the garage funk number "Fever" by JINGO, a Kenyan musician from the 1970s, which was included on the disc. He says that he took his time to create this album in order to realize his musical vision. In terms of sound, the band not only relied on music software, but also incorporated live instruments. IDEALIST", which means "idealist" in Japanese, is a new take on the new wave style electro-funk pioneered by Metronomy, LA Priest, and others.

ニューウェイヴ風エレクトロ・ファンクに新たな風を吹き込むのは、MIND ENTERPRISESの“理想主義”! エレクトロ・シーンに革新をもたらしてきたBECAUSE MUSICが2016年に送り出すニューカマーのデビュー・アルバム登場! そのデビュー作のインスピレーションとなったのは、“アフロ・ファンク”。切っ掛けを作ったのは、Andreaが前に所属していたポスト・パンク・バンド、Didのプロデュースを手掛けたLiquid LiquidのSalvatore Principatoが彼に渡したハード・ディスクに収録された音源たち。その中に収録されていた70年代のケニアのミュージシャン、JINGOのガレージ・ファンク・ナンバー「Fever」にハマってしまったという。自分の音楽的ヴィジョンを実現するために、時間をじっくりかけて制作したという本作。サウンド面でも音楽ソフトに頼るだけでなく、生楽器も取り入れたという。“理想主義者”を意味するタイトルの『IDEALIST』には、MetronomyやLA Priestなどが切り拓いたニューウェイヴ風エレクトロ・ファンクに新たな風を吹き込む!
