世界最強のパーティー・ロック・バンド“ゼブラヘッド”、結成20周年記念作となる8thアルバム。アメリカ西海岸出身のパーティー・ロック・バンド“ゼブラヘッド”が、結成20周年記念作となる8thアルバム『ウォーク・ザ・プランク』をリリース。今年3月に自身初となるベスト盤『グレイテスト・ヒッツ?』を発売したが、オリジナル作としては2013年の『コール・ユア・フレンズ』以来2年ぶりとなる作品となる。20周年を機に「今までの自分達から更に一歩前へ踏み出したい」という思いから、一番ユニークだと感じた収録曲「ウォーク・ザ・プランク」をアルバム・タイトルにしたという。また、海賊が昔、敵方を船から突き出た板の上を目隠しで歩かせたことから生まれた言葉「ウォーク・ザ・プランク」は、彼らにとって「年中ツアーで旅に出ている生活は海賊の生き方にも通じるし、イチかバチかで人生の冒険をしている俺たちをうまく言い表している言葉でもあるんだ」とのことで、まさにゼブラヘッド流の新たな門出に相応しいタイトルといえるだろう。また、その収録曲「ウォーク・ザ・プランク」と「ソー・ホワット」の2曲には、なんとMAN WITH AMISSIONのDJサンタモニカがゲスト参加! 2013年のサマーソニックにて共演し、その後共通の知人を通じてLAにて改めて知り合い意気投合した2バンドは、カップリング・ツアーも行う予定だ。
