ギャラリーフェイク(贋作画廊)オーナー・藤田が、その天才的審美眼と修復技術を武器に、美術界の裏に潜む虚飾に切り込む。 古代メソポタミア文明の「ニエヴェの図書館」に関する壮大な謎に、3話にわたってフジタが挑む表題作のほか、インディアン・ジュエリーやハッピー・ミール・トイ(マクドナルドなどのファーストフード・チェーン店が、子供向けのセットメニューにつけているオマケの人形の総称)など、バラエティーに富んだ品目が登場する。 あらすじ 宝石商のハウザーに貸した金を回収するため、そのあとを追って、はるばるニューメキシコ州までやってきたフジタ。ハウザーはインディアン・ジュエリーの売買によって借金を返そうとするが、取り引きはうまくいかない。そんなハウザーに、フジタはある街へ行くことを提案する…(第1話)。 登場人物 藤田玲司(フジタレイジ。ニューヨーク・メトロポリタン美術館元学芸員で、主に贋作がんさくを扱う画廊「ギャラリーフェイク」のオーナー。美術界の表と裏に精通している)、サラ(フジタのアシスタント。フジタに好意を持っている。実家はアラブの大富豪)
