Corpus to Kindai Nihongo Kakikotoba No Ichininsho Dai Mei

During this period, the diffusion of letterpress printing technology and the development of mass media resulted in the publication and distribution of an enormous amount of written materials. Using a corpus of modern magazines, which can be regarded as a microcosm of such rapid changes, this book analyzes and discusses the system and diachronic changes of first-person pronouns in the written language of the Meiji and Taisho periods, which have rarely been treated in previous studies. In addition to the study of first-person pronouns as a linguistic item itself, the author also studies the design and material characteristics of the corpus of modern magazines, which he himself was involved in building to fulfill this purpose.

コーパスの活用により浮かび上がる近代日本語史の知られざる側面。新漢語の発生や言文一致の進展に代表されるように、約六〇年という短期間に書き言葉が劇的に変化した明治・大正期。この時期には活版印刷技術の普及やマスメディアの発達により、膨大な量の書き言葉の資料が出版され流通した。本書では、そのような急激な変化を内包した資料群の縮図とも言える近代雑誌のコーパスを使用して、先行研究でほとんど扱われてこなかった明治・大正期の書き言葉における一人称代名詞の体系と通時的変化について分析・考察する。一人称代名詞という言語項目の研究そのものとともに、それを果たすために、著者自らも構築に携わった近代雑誌コーパスの設計・資料特性の研究も展開。
