666 bears little resemblance to Roentgen, hyde's first solo album, barring the obvious enamor with English. It's a much more rock album with fewer ballads or moody, introspective pieces; it's more of a get-up-and-move album than a lie-there-and-mope album. That being said, I'm not particularly fond of this album. It's head and shoulders above Roentgen as far as a rock album goes, but the quality of the music itself doesn't seem to equal L'arc~en~ciel's. He's competent as a solo artist, but it still feels like something's lacking. It's great for L'arc~en~ciel fans, but I'd recommend a try-before-you-buy for everyone else.
