1996年5月にスタジオ・アルバム『Pure Instinct』をリリースするが20年来のメンバーであるドラムスのハーマン・ラレベルが脱退、新たにジェイムズ・コタックが加入する。そしてこの新体制で2年振りのワールド・ツアーを行う。このツアーの初日となるテキサス州エル・パソのコンサートはツアーとニュー・アルバムのプロモーションの為に(米)PBSによって収録・放送される。このライヴ・アルバムは放送時に使用された音源を用いたものであり、コンサートの全容を捉えている。ニュー・アルバムの楽曲に加えてこれまでのアルバムの代表楽曲を配したセット・リストはこの時点での＜ベスト・オブ・～＞といった趣の内容であり、この時点でのスコーピオンズのライヴを満喫できるアルバム! 輸入盤国内仕様。
