1996年6月にサミー・ヘイガーが脱退、デイヴィッド・リー・ロスが復帰するが新曲のレコーディングのみの参加に終わる。そしてバンドは3 代目ヴォーカリストとして元エクストリームのゲイリー・シェローンが加入、1998年3月に新作『ヴァン・ヘイレン (原題: Van Halen)』をリリースし久々のワールド・ツアーを敢行する。その北米ツアーの7月24日のピッツバーグ公演はラジオでのプロモーションの為に収録・放送される。今回は放送時に使用されたオーディオ・マスターを使用してのリリース。当日のセット・リストはニュー・アルバムの楽曲を中心にヒット曲を配し、メドレーやギター・ソロ、アンコールを含めて全19曲であり、このライヴ・アルバムはコンサートの模様を完全収録している。サミー・ヘイガーとは異なる声質ながらもゲイリー・シェローンはバンドの一員として溶け込んでおり、ヴァン・ヘイレンならではのパワフルなライヴ・パフォーマンスを披露する。このツアー終了後にゲイリー・シェローンは脱退するだけにこのラインアップでのライヴが聴ける貴重なアーカイヴのリリース! 輸入盤国内仕様。
